Girls' Last Tour - Episode 5
Ahhh man, we're already almost halfway through fall season and I haven't gotten around to writing about stuff from last season yet...One of these days I'll be better about posting more often.
Anyways, if you've not been watching Girls' Last Tour so far, its a really nice laid back mellow show that follows two girls as they tour what seems to be a post-apocalyptic world.
Yu and Chi daydreaming in the apartment they found, about all the simple things they would want in their home was kind of bitter sweet to me. Given the world and situation they were born into, such simple things like a home and basic amenities are luxuries to them. Ultimately they decide to move on after spending the night with a proper roof over their head, but not before staying up all night goofing off simply because they had electricity and light through the night. The antics shown really do a nice job of keeping the more desperate undertones of the world they live in at bay and I really appreciate that about this show.
I also really enjoyed the end of the episode where the two put their helmets and all manner of other metal objects under the water dripping down under their shelter, creating a symphony from the rain. I imagine the sound and music directors had a really fun time with this episode!
